Hyundai Velosters produced from November 1, 2011 through April 17, 2012 may have been weakened during installation at the factory. A weakened panoramic sunroof could break while the car is in motion, potentially leading to injuries or a crash. On the 2013 Hyundai Veloster, the panoramic sunroof is available as part of a $2000 package that also includes upgraded interior trim, 18-inch wheels, and fog lights.
The Fix: Starting in January 2013, Hyundai will notify owners and inspect the condition of the sunroofs and, if necessary, replace the glass assembly. Hyundai can be contacted at 1-800-633-5151.
Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 13,500 2012 Hyundai Velosters; 13,000 in the U.S. and about 500 vehicles in Puerto Rico.
