Spied: 2014 Jaguar XFR-S

The Jaguar XFR-S has been spied head of its debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show later this month. The performance flagship of the XF range will rival the facelifted Mercedes E63 AMG, which Mercedes promises will be much more aggressive when it arrives here next year.

The XFR-S will go head to head with the latest BMW M5, too. But whereas the £73,065 M5 gets a 552bhp twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8, the Jaguar is expected to use the same supercharged 5.0-litre V8 from the XKR-S, which develops 542bhp.

The BMW uses a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, while the Jaguar is expected to get an uprated version of the ZF eight-speed automatic found in the rest of the range.

The XFR-S is also expected to a get overhauled aerodynamic kit, including a new set of more aggressively sculpted bumpers and a larger wing which is a step up again from the standard XFR’s optional Speed Pack. An even more outlandish fixed rear wing is expected to be offered as an option. For more details click here.
