Recall Up Date: 2007-2009 Hyundai Santa Fe

The Problem: Certain Santa Fe SUVs may need to have their occupant classification system (OCS) recalibrated. Currently, the vehicles may not detect small-statured adults. If the OCS doesn’t detect the occupant, the front-passenger airbag won’t deploy in a crash, leaving the passenger unprotected.

The Fix: Hyundai dealers will update the OCS software free of charge once owners have been notified. The manufacturer can be contacted regarding recall number 105 at 1-800-633-5151.

Number of Vehicles Affected: 199,118 Hyundai Santa Fe SUVs built from 2007 to 2009.
